COMMENTS: I found this site very motivational and exciting. This is only my second year with the cub scouts. They approached me to be Cubmaster after the last one just walked off at the end of the school year. I have been fumbling, trying to make packed meetings more fun, and getting more parents involved with it. This site in the so much information to that like permission to both link it and incorporate a few of the items you have up here. As well as printing out a chunk of it. Keep up the good work, you help me stay motivated and motivate the boys even more.

COMMENTS: Bill, On a previous visit I thought I had seen an idea for a graduation ceremony in which the pack set up a faux campsite with fire and some large pots with dry ice to make it look like they were steaming. Then scouts would pull their neckerchiefs from the steaming pots. I can no longer find this and wondered if you can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a ceremony idea that is more fun than serious and the one I mentioned seemed to match.

   Gunner, I finally tracked it down to Marty's posting in Cub-Scout-Talk back in Oct. 29, 1999.

I brought in 6-8 small logs, stacked them with two alternating, pointing each way and put an orange shaded trouble light in the middle to give a fire glow. I then put a large pot (filled with dry ice) on top. In my case I had another pan in the center with neckerchiefs to give to new Cubs. I made a ceremony of adding blue and yellow colored water and got the expected steam effect coming from the pot. You could just add a little water to the dry ice now and then to keep it cooking.

I am stumped on. 13 = A.F. Is that the whole phrase? There are no letters missing? I am not looking for the answer, I want to figure it on my own. I am actually going to use it at RT.

COMMENTS: Bill, I thank you many times over for your fantastic guidance. My son and I were part of a struggling Pack with poor leadership. We decided that rather then quit, we would fix it and have, along with several other parents and scouts, made remarkable progress in the first year alone. We have had an active Summer and look forward to another year of scouting ahead of us. Again, thank you for you ideas and guidance to a group of scouting novices. I do have a question for you. Our Pack is making a banner to display during activities and camping adventures. We love your wolf/boy scout emblem shown throughout this site. Would this emblem be available for use on a Pack Banner? For obvious reasons we do not want to use it without authorization, but are also wondering if the picture is available in an EPS or illustrator format for better clarity. COMMENTS: I would like to find a place nearby for my grandson whom is in my custody right now until his mother can get him back . Meanwhile he has nothing to do nor any children his age to converse with. Please help!
   I was able to locate the district Lisa lives in and send her a list of nearby Cub Packs. I also forwarded her message to the DE. Sam Houston Area Councils considered one of the best ones in the country so I fully expect that her grandson should be able to join a good pack.
